Q. How will the website be sustained for hundreds of years?

A. Domain names (such as www.mywebsite.com) have to be renewed every couple of years and websites are stored on office computers (known as Servers). To ensure that this website is maintained ad-infinitum the responsibility is currently shared amongst different people. It will be their responsibility to pass it on to the next generation, then that generation after to the next one, and so on. The website will also be held in a Trust arrangement should the generation to generation passing of responsibility fail in a later generation. The responsibility would then pass to another company or group of individuals. It should be remembered that all reputable businesses have a disaster recovery plan to ensure the continuity of their business. The World Poetry Book is no exception to this. The nature of computers, data storage and the Internet will invariably change over time but there is no reason why this website will not persist.

Q. If you publish my poem(s) do you then own the copyright?

A. No. You own the copyright and are free to have it published elsewhere. The World Poetry Book website itself is already copyrighted under its own name.

Q. If I’ve had my poem(s) published elsewhere and given up or sold my copyright. Can you still publish my poem(s)?

A. No. Not without express permission of the owner of the copyright.
