Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q. I want to include a short autobiography but what should I include?

A. Say a bit it about yourself, what you have done in the past, what your interests are, what your ambitions are, why you like writing poetry, if you enjoy other forms of literature, if you like writing short stories or perhaps novels etc. Always bear in mind that traditional publishers and agents read online poetry looking for talent so say whatever you think is important to say about yourself.

Q. If I include an autobiography is there a danger of identity theft?

A. Only if you include details of your unique identity such as exact date of birth, your address, the exact date you were married etc. Therefore it is inadvisable to do so.

Q. Do I have to include my name?

A. No, you can remain anonymous or use a pseudonym. However, we will need a valid email address so we can contact you should you win a competition prize.

Q. Will you give my details out to any other organisations?

A. No, we conform to the Data Protection Act 1998 and keep your details secure and confidential.

Q. If a publisher or agent wants to get in touch with me what would you do?

A. We would email you first and ask if you wanted to be put in touch with them. If you did, but you did not want to deal with them directly, we would be happy to act on your behalf for an agent’s fee.

Q. How will the poems be accessed on the website?

A. By surname and also by poem title. The book structure can be seen by clicking on ‘The Book’ at the bottom of this page.
